Let’s support the good guys!

These are some of my favourite people, brands and businesses.

I get it, not everyone wants to DIY, and let’s be real, not everything can or should be DIY’ed! These guys will probably have everything you’re after, from menstrual cups and tongue scrapers, to shampoo and nail polish. The best bit is, they are all making their best efforts to look after you, the planet, and future generations. I encourage you to support the good guys.

Biome sell everything from personal care items, to reusable cups to ‘slow fashion’ items.  There are plenty of companies selling eco-friendly, low-toxin products, but Biome is one of my most trusted resources. Tracey Bailey, the founder and director, has very strict standards and is very transparent with the information she shares. You can also find lots of DIY ingredients here.

123 Nourish Me

When time is an issue or DIY just isn’t your thing, it’s important to have reliable brands to rely on.  I know Alisa and Dani personally, and I can assure you that they have the very best intentions when it comes to people and planet. Most of their products are certified organic, and I have tried most of their range; the sunscreen is lovely and smooth, the roll on deodorant works wonders, and the hand wash is gorgeous, to reference a few. Local Perth girls worth checking out.

Waters Co Australia

If I am leaving the house for longer than the day, I literally never leave without this bad boy in my handbag. It allows me to filter water on the go (very handy when I’m interstate and in hotel rooms!) and eliminates the need for plastic bottles.  Waterman’s central cartridge contains alkaline minerals, magnets and activated carbon filter medium. It re-mineralises and ionises ordinary tap water while filtering out up to 99% of chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, chemicals and bacteria. Each filter replaces around 500x 600ml bottles.

JuJu Menstrual Cups

I am so obsessed with my Juju cup, and all of the benefits of owning one, that I have devoted an entire blog post to it! You can read that here. Its ease of use, the number of disposable period-related items I have saved form landfill make it an absolute staple for me!

Low Tox Life – Alexx Stuart

I may be known as the ‘Queen of DIY’, but Alexx is the ‘Queen of Low Tox – all areas’. This girl is kicking some serious goals in the wellness space and I HIGHLY recommend her book and her ‘Go Low Tox’ course.  If you’re after recommendations on low tox mattresses, wall paint, clothing, kettles and cookware, etc. – Alexx is your chick.

Nourished Life

NL sells over 7,000 products, and you’ll often find items on sale. From brands like Ethique and 100% Pure, to Modibodi and Grants, you can do most of your toxin-aware shopping in one place, and earn rewards at the same time – just be savvy and check that those labels meet your needs.

Banksia Pods

These Banksia Pods come from native Australian trees. The pods are porous, soaking up your essential oils and slowly releasing a beautiful natural aroma. No flames and no electricity are needed with these natural diffusers. It is a great way to naturally fragrance your toilet, bathroom and cupboards! Use code Krissy15 for 15% off your purchase.

Put the crappy plastic dinnerware back on the shelf and check these guys out! They make super stylish plant-based plates, bowls, cups and straws, and it’s all dishwasher safe. Made from natural, renewable and sustainable bamboo, their dinnerware products are non-toxic and biodegradable. Use code INSPIRED10 for 10% off your purchase.
